*** Telework (Within Minnesota or neighboring states) and flexible hours options are available.*** The Community Based Prevention Consultant focuses on promotion and prevention strategies, and will be a catalyst for galvanizing internal and external partners toward practice, policy, systems, and environmental change to support equitable child and family well-being. The position will coordinate systems level strategies and provide leadership and technical expertise within Department of Human Services (DHS) and in collaboration with other state departments, counties, Tribes, and community-based organizations to advance the departments’ mission to promote family well-being and prevent child maltreatment. Responsibilities include: • Collaborate with all partners to co-create practice, policy, systems, and environmental change strategies to promote the well-being of pregnant and parenting families at highest risk of entering the child welfare system. Using a trauma informed, equity based approach that moves beyond providing access to services to developing innovative policies that support safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments and social and economic security for families within their communities. • As a representative of DHS, build relationships with key stakeholders, engage with internal and external relations and negotiations that will result in strong partnerships to advance equity and inclusion efforts and innovative projects that support the well-being pregnant and parenting families. Support a team approach to building equity and inclusion into all work related to supporting family and community well-being. • Dovetailing/connecting practice, policy, systems, and environmental change efforts with the development of a prevention continuum connected to Family First Prevention services Act and other related work.
